EV Charger Installation
Years ago, we started off as Ozark Electric Vehicle Charging Solutions and exclusive provided charger installation to our customers. While we have since re-branded and become a full-service electrical contracting business, our expertise in EV Charging is still an integral facet to our business.
Within the world of EV Charging, you'll hear terms like "Level One," "Level Two," and "Level Three" charging. Level One charging is done off a standard 120V receptacle like you find in your home.
Level One charging can deliver about 1kW per hour, and as such will charge your vehicle in 3-5 days.
Level Two charging utilizes 240V infrastructure, and will charge most vehicle batteries in 5-8 hours. In Level One and Two charging, it is actually a misnomer that we install "Chargers" technically speaking, we install Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE). The actual "charger" is onboard your vehicle. This is what takes the AC electricity from the grid, and converts it to DC electricity which can then be stored in your batteries.
Level Three Chargers really are chargers, and convert AC to DC before dispensing it to the vehicle, and essentially mainline the power straight into the battery. This is how Level Three chargers are able to bring your battery to a full charge in as little as 15-30 minutes.
Level Three chargers require commercial 208V or 480V 3-Phase electricity which is not found at residential addresses. Level Three charger installation starts at about $50,000, whereas a Level Two charger can be installed with hardware and labor for under $1,000.
Based on the above information, it's obvious to see that Level Two charging is the best fit for most customers. To find out more, give us a call or text and we'll bring you up to speed on all things EV Charging!

Find out more about our process
We offer charger installation starting at $395 when we are installing within one stud bay of the electrical panel (and under ideal circumstances). No other electrical contractor is as upfront in their pricing as we are.
When we are installing a charger that is not immediately next to the electrical panel and we go up into the attic, and down a different wall (or use the crawlspace, or surface mount our piping), most of these installations run $800-$1,500.
With that being said, the most expensive install we have done was over $10,000 (we trenched 90,' crossed a road, relocated and upgraded the electrical panel). Thankfully, the homeowner new this would be the case before purchasing their EV, but please reach out for an estimate first before you buy your EV if you're hoping to save $25 a week on gas!
